The carbon block filter by HydroGuard (4.5" x 6.5", ¼" Top Center Thread 0.5m) is used in the Aquaversa drinking water filtration systems.
Carbon media -from coconut shell- is used to improve taste, remove chlorine and odors of water. Carbon is effective in removing organic matter from water by adsorption; carbon filters do not remove minerals from water. The rating of the carbon block filter is 0.5 microns for effective sediment filtration. The filter capacity is 750 gallons or 12 months and it can be easily replaced. The Aquaversa system is normally connected with a drinking water faucet or used in inline applications such as icemakers, hot water dispensers, water fountains, coffee machines, etc. Changing the CB6 compatible filter on time will ensure you get fresh, great tasting water and ice cubes. If you know that tap water contains a contaminant that can not be removed using carbon media (e.g., nitrate, fluoride, perchlorate, etc.), and/or if the total dissolved solids (TDS) in tap water is higher than 300 mg/L, then you may want to consider installing a reverse osmosis system instead of a carbon block filter. This economy filter is offered at lower price to make it affordable to the customer.
